As you may already know, at InspiNest, our motto, “Changing Mindsets Towards Innovation,” drives everything we do. This guiding principle was at the heart of our recent collaboration with UNLEASH Hacks Ghana and other stakeholders to organize the UNLEASH Hacks Event in Sunyani, Bono Region. Themed “Decent Work and Social Protection,” the event, held from 8th – 9th November 2024, targeted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 (No Poverty) and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), bringing young minds together to develop impactful solutions for community and nationwide challenges.
A Shared Vision to Nurture and Empower
The UNLEASH Hacks event remarkably aligns with InspiNest’s Digital Literacy Project, which has so far equipped young people in and around Sunyani with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven economy. Just as we do at our outreaches, participants were encouraged to think critically about leveraging digital tools and entrepreneurship to address pressing socio-economic issues through engaging discussions, mentorship, and idea-sharing sessions. They were inspired to consider innovative solutions that solve problems and foster sustainable development in Sunyani and beyond.
Some Highlights
The event allowed young people to exchange ideas and develop practical solutions to challenges such as unemployment and social protection.
They also engaged in thought-provoking discussions and received mentorship to refine their ideas, aligning them with the SDGs.
InspiNest emphasized the importance of using digital tools to drive entrepreneurship and innovation, inspiring participants to embrace technology as a powerful resource.
Abubakar Abdul Fatahi Pambo, Inspinest’s project lead and IT facilitator, expressed his pride in the participants’ enthusiasm and creativity.
